Box Braids
Classic square-parted braids that give you a polished, versatile look for work, weekends and travel. Wash, conditioning, heat protection and premium fibre included with every booking.
Is Box Braids a good match for you?
Choose this style if you want a neat, structured braid that holds its shape well and gives you plenty of styling options while protecting your natural hair.
- You prefer a classic braid look with clean parts and consistent size from root to tip.
- You want a style you can wear down, in a bun, half up or ponytail without daily combing.
- Your routine allows simple weekly care like cleansing your scalp and wrapping your hair at night.
- You like a style that holds up well for travel, busy work seasons and holidays.
When to pause before booking
- Pause if your scalp is already irritated. If you notice redness, flaking, burning or sore spots, begin with a Scalp Treatment and choose a low-tension style while your scalp recovers.
- Skip if your hair feels very dry or you are seeing a lot of breakage. Box braids carry more fibre weight per section than knotless, so we prefer to start on hair that has had a Deep Conditioning Treatment.
- Reconsider if your hairline feels tender or thin. If your edges are recovering from previous tension, we may guide you towards a lighter style or suggest a Hydration Treatment before installing.
- If your hair has been recently coloured and feels fragile. A Hydration Treatment supports elasticity so your hair can handle the added weight more comfortably.
Every Box Braids booking includes a wash, conditioning, heat protection and blow dry, plus premium fibre. A complimentary uninstall voucher — covering a wash, condition, heat protection, blow dry and scalp assessment — is also included.

Hair and fibre notes in plain language
We keep the science simple and focus on how your hair and braids behave in real life.
- More structure at the root. Box braids begin with a small knot at the base which helps each braid sit firmly. We balance section size and tension to respect your hairline throughout.
- Weight and length choices. Longer or fuller braids add more weight per section. During your consult we guide you to a length and thickness your scalp and strands can handle comfortably.
- Treatments that support the style. Deep Conditioning helps dry hair feel stronger under the fibre. Hydration Treatment supports elasticity for coloured or frequently heat-styled hair.
Aftercare tips
Simple habits to keep your Box Braids neat, comfortable and easy to remove when you are ready for a refresh.
- Cleanse your scalp regularly. Use diluted shampoo between the lines every 2 to 3 weeks and rinse well so your scalp stays fresh.
- Dry the roots fully. After washing, gently squeeze out excess water and let the braids dry completely, especially at the roots.
- Wrap at night. A satin scarf or bonnet reduces frizz and protects your hairline. A loose ponytail or bun prevents tangling while you sleep.
- Avoid heavy products. Light oils and mists are enough. Heavy creams and gels cause buildup and make takedown harder.
- Wear for 6 to 8 weeks. This range balances length retention with scalp health and keeps removal manageable.
Questions clients often ask
Will my braids feel heavy?
Not necessarily. During your consult we match length and thickness to your hair and lifestyle so your braids feel secure without pulling. Your service includes a full hydration ritual and a comfort-first approach from install to takedown.
